In the world of luxury travel for the ultra-wealthy, Rolls-Royce has the Cullinan, Bentley boasts the Bentayga, and BMW offers the X7. But worry not — we in Asia also have our very own top-tier luxury SUV. That vehicle is none other than the Toyota Century SUV.
Since its first appearance in 1967, the Toyota Century (originally a four-door saloon) has become a true symbol of prestige and craftsmanship from Japan’s automotive giant. The Century has long served as the official state car for Japan’s Emperor and Imperial family, accompanying them on official duties and ceremonies.
It is also favored by Japan’s most influential and deeply patriotic elites, who take pride in driving a high-end vehicle crafted entirely by Japanese hands, showing little interest in luxury cars from Germany or Britain.
